NEW YORK, April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- VH1's original movie, "30 Days Until I'm Famous" tells the story of a young girl trying to keep her family together, while taking a chance on the opportunity to be transformed from a messenger girl into a musician.
Executive produced by Screenvest and Maverick Films, "30 Days Until I'm Famous," premiering Friday, May 7 at 9:00 p.m.* is the story of Maggie Moreno (Guaty), a tomboy whose brush with fate gives her an opportunity of a lifetime. Cole Thompson (Flanery) makes a bet with his boss that he can take any girl off the street and turn her into a pop star. Maggie accepts Cole's offer and after a long month of makeovers, voice and dance lessons, Maggie's new persona, Solita, takes the stage and is an immediate hit. Maggie is torn between her heritage and Latina family background and the Latino stereotype she's become as Solita.
The cast of "30 Days Until I'm Famous" features Camille Guaty (WB's "The Help" and "The Brothers Garcia"), Sean Patrick Flanery ("The Boondocks Saints") and Mindy Sterling ("Austin Powers in Goldmember," "How the Grinch Stole Christmas"). The film's cast also includes Lupe Ontiveros ("Real Women Have Curves"), Udo Kier ("Ace Ventura"), Seidy Lopez ("Training Day"), and Carmen Electra ("Starsky & Hutch" and MTV's "Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen & Dave"), Alanna Ubach ("Legally Blonde"), Jack Plotnick ("Down With Love"), Scott Stapp (lead singer of Creed) and Lauren Tom ("North," "The Joy Luck Club").

The music-driven romantic comedy features original music and songs by Kinky, the Black-Eyed Peas, will.i.am, Soraya, Jorge Moreno and Desi Arnaz and was filmed in Los Angeles. It is directed by Gabriela Tagliavini ("Ladies Night") and produced by Screenvest in association with Maverick Films for VH1. Executive producers are Screenvests' Jan Korbelin, Bill O'Dowd and Philip Von Alvensleben, along with Maverick Films' Madonna, Guy Oseary, Bruno Del Granado and Mark Morgan.
