Ex-Creed frontman Scott Stapp has set November 22nd as the release date for his first solo project since his former group disbanded 15 months ago, according to Billboard.com. The album is called The Great Divide and the title track is going to radio stations now as the CD's first single. Stapp told The Zone that his many different influences will come out on the record: "I think I took the concept from the Doors of lyrics as poetry or bodies of work, and then I took writing from your heart and from your gut and what you believe and what you feel from U2, and then, you know, you throw in Zeppelin and Cream and other bands like that from the Sixties and Seventies, and that's what really what makes up who I am as an artist and so all of that is gonna come out."
Stapp recently filmed a video for the album's title track at an airport hangar in Los Angeles.
The vocalist plans to launch his first solo tour in March, hitting clubs and theatres. Stapp has maintained a low profile since Creed's break-up. He issued one new song, a track called "Relearn Love," in 2004 on an collection of songs inspired by the movie The Passion Of The Christ.
