ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Former Creed singer Scott Stapp had another band -- Led Zeppelin -- in mind as he was making his first solo album, "The Great Divide."
"I really wanted to write a groove-oriented rock record along the same vein as how 'Kashmir' was to Led Zeppelin," Stapp explains, "just that you drive in your car and it makes you feel good to listen to and you kind of move your head a little bit, but it's not over the top, y'know? It's not headbanger. It's just groove-oriented."
Creed split-up in late 2003, with the other members going on to form a new band, Alter Bridge. Stapp contributed the song "Relearn Love" to a 2004 collection of songs inspired by the movie "The Passion Of the Christ" before starting work on "The Great Divide."
Stapp intends to tour next year to support the album.
