Our Review:
Creed's second coming is a lot like its first, except way more apocalyptic. These angst-ridden rockers view life as a weighty struggle, and their music reflects that--such as when singer Scott Stapp vocalizes about troublesome stuff like "forked tongues in bitter mouths." On paper, it can seem like overblown, nonsensical crap, but somehow Stapp & Co. make it work on disc. And when the band varies its musical approach, as on "With Arms Wide Open"--an ode to Stapp's newborn son--and the take-me-to-heaven anthem "Higher," the group indeed finds its way to the promised land.
