San Francisco, July 17, 2002 - Creed, the With Arms Wide Open Foundation, and StubHub.com are working together to auction premium seats to all shows on Creed's North American Summer and Fall Tour. This charity auction for premium seats can be accessed through Creed's official website, www.creed.com, as well as through each site across the StubHub Network, including www.stubhub.com. Fans can bid on packages that include pairs of premium seats, the debut issue of CreedINK magazine as well as a printed, autographed band photograph. Proceeds will benefit Scott Stapp's With Arms Wide Open Foundation, a charitable foundation that supports children and seeks to promote healthy parent-child relationships.
This is not the first time Creed has designed an avenue for charitable contributions to the With Arms Wide Open Foundation. Throughout the Human Clay Tour, the band contributed $1.00 for every ticket sold to the Foundation. In addition, Creed donated all of the proceeds from the commercial single release of "With Arms Wide Open" which allowed the Foundation to get off the ground.
"We have watched the success StubHub has had with other performing artists and we are very excited to work with StubHub to offer charity ticket auctions to Creed fans," said Creed's manager, Jeff Hanson. "This allows Creed's fans to get access to premium seats and other great benefits, while at the same time raising money for the With Arms Wide Open Foundation!"
The StubHub Network is a nationwide group of websites that offer the co-branded StubHub Ticket Marketplace product. The StubHub Ticket Marketplace, developed by LiquidSeats, Inc., powers the charity auctions on Creed.com and provides ticketing functionality for all sites in the StubHub Network. LiquidSeats handles all customer support, software development, payment processing and logistics. By joining the StubHub Network, websites are able to offer their users exclusive access to premium tickets such as those offered through the Creed charity auction.
"We are delighted to be working with Creed for such a great cause," said LiquidSeats CEO Jeffrey Fluhr. "It's a wonderful thing to see the band making a contribution to charity while providing a great service to their fans."
LiquidSeats has recently launched similar programs with artists Alanis Morissette and Britney Spears. The company also recently announced a partnership with MSN.
About The With Arms Wide Open Foundation
The With Arms Wide Open Foundation, which was created in October 2000, protects the lives and well-being of children by seeking to ensure healthy, loving, nurturing bonds between children and their parents through funding existing service providers and identifying and addressing service gap areas. The Foundation's intent is to raise public awareness of the importance of healthy parent-child relationships in whatever form they may arise; to provide encouraging support and education to parents; and to identify and address problematic areas that impede the development and/or maintenance of healthy, loving, nurturing parent-child relationships.
