The With Arms Wide Open Foundation, which was created by Creed frontman Scott Stapp, announced that it will donate $50,000 to New Yorkers For Children (NYFC), which raises funds to support the New York City Administration for Children's Services (ACS). The ACS is the organization that will take care of children orphaned by the World Trade Center attack. Current reports estimate that the number of now-parentless children due to the attack is 500. Money will be allotted to family members who will now be caring and supporting their relatives' orphaned children.

Stapp told LAUNCH he's proud of the With Arms Wide Open foundation. "I would rather be remembered for the With Arms Wide Open Foundation when I'm gone than anything Creed ever did," he said. "That's the legacy that I want to leave behind."

Fans who wish to help out will receive a matching contribution from With Arms Wide Open. Stapp has pledged up to an additional $50,000 of matching funds for those who want to help out the NYFC. Donations can be sent to the Foundation's office or can be made at the foundation's website, witharmswideopen.org.

In addition, proceeds from the With Arms Wide Open celebrity softball event on Saturday (September 22) in Orlando, Florida will be forwarded to NYFC.
